I have a Yaesu FTH-1010 which is the low band version of the VHF FTH-2010....these are the commercial equivalent of the Yaesu FT-23 handheld.
My FTH-1010 has a FVP-22 encryption board installed. I have successfully read the radio with 2 versions of CE2 (v1.2 and v2.10) but I cannot figure out how to disable the encryption so that I can TX/RX in the clear. Logically you would expect that you need to press a button OR power up the radio with a certain button pressed to disable encryption??
I've searched the internet but can't find anything. The CE2 software also does not appear to provide the option to switch off encryption. So maybe I need special software. CE2 v1.2 is for 5 tone applications and v2.1 looks to be standard software which included power toggle options instead of 5 tone signalling...so I guess there might be another version of CE2 for the encryption module similar to the 5 tone signalling software.
I presume I should be able to remove the FVP-22 encryption board but I'm not sure if I need to replace the board with jumper links...but my preference is to be able to switch off encryption rather than remove the board.
Any ideas? Thanks
